Master's Degree in Archaeology

The Master's in Archaeology is a research-oriented national diploma awarded after four semesters (M1\u2013M2) following the Bachelor. It prepares students for research in archaeology through the study of methods, seminars, fieldwork and a dissertation defended before a jury. The institute offers several tracks, in particular Preventive Archaeology and Rural and Saharan Archaeology, which open from the 2026\u20132027 academic year. Students choose their research subject within one of the institute's recognised fields, in close link with its laboratories (LECMMA, Archaeometry, Prehistory). Admission to M1 is granted to holders of the Bachelor in Archaeology or an equivalent qualification, after assessment of the academic record. Holders of the Master may pursue a Doctorate or join heritage and research institutions: national parks, museums, cultural directorates and archaeological excavation operators.
