Located on the Sidi Abdellah campus, the Archaeometry Laboratory is dedicated to the physico-chemical analysis of archaeological material. It supports the fields, the institute's own excavations and the student dissertations. The laboratory develops non-destructive and micro-sampling analyses: characterisation of ceramics and plasters (petrography, X-ray diffraction), metals, stone and bone materials, as well as the study of ancient building materials for conservation purposes. It works in partnership with national institutions and foreign laboratories in the Maghreb and Europe, within the framework of research projects and student mobility programmes.
